After testifying at the
2005 legislative hearings and returning home with nothing for the
homeowners once again, it dawned on me that we were not getting our
message out to the real decision makers--the voters, the
homeowners--because our stories were not being covered.
The news media was picking and choosing
what was being published and who they were taking stories
from. Inspired by God, I decided to take the challenge of
starting an on-line newspaper that would enable anyone that wanted
to use their first-amendment right to do so could write their own
story and have it published without censorship except there is
no cursing, sexual and racist content permitted. Your
story will not be censored because you are causing trouble
by whistle blowing on an abusive homeowner association, or
calling out a "'gangster'" lawfirm or exposing a corrupt
politician. It will be printed.
The power of speaking out
is awesome. The industry hate that we have the ability to
tell our own stories and speak out through various formats on the
internet. We must continue to be diligent in protecting this
right.
When we lost our homestead in 1995, I
wish we had a media like this to tell our story as many of our
stories given to the mainstream news media were killed by the
attorney for the association that foreclosed on us.
Whatever story you have to tell, on
whatever subject, in whatever format--press release, poem,
whatever--you can write and publish it in our newspaper Write Your
